Selection Process
Team selections will be made in an open try out process that is open to any player who is interested and can commit to the team. An objective selection committee will determine who the players are for each division rather than the coaches’ hand picking the kids that they know or want to coach. Tryouts will be conducted for every venue as we understand the dynamics (age restrictions, vacation schedules, other personal commitments, financial) that can limit some player’s ability to participate with every venue. We are undecided at this time if a refundable try-out fee will be assessed. Also, there may be players who believe they have talent to try out for higher level/age team and have worked hard to improve their skills to do so. Our philosophy will be that players will be given this opportunity if 1) tournament restriction does not prohibit and 2) the player presents a written request with recommendation from present or past coach.
Our selection process will not be based on parent involvement but rather on selecting the best player for the positions. We understand that there will be disappointments but our goals and mission is put together the best competitive team for travel purposes.
For the Boys Levels -We will select a maximum of 24 players comprised of the following:
• 6 Attack Positions
• 10 Midfield Positions (including a max of 2 long pole middies)
• 6 Defense Positions
• 2 Goalies
• In addition we also name 2-4 alternates for each overall team
